Rathaus Weil am Rhein Leit- und Orientierungssystem

As part of the town hall extension in Weil am Rhein, the communication experts at typenraum designed a new guidance and orientation system for the complex. The first step was to develop a guiding strategy with the aim of clearly distinguishing between the two buildings, the extension and the existing structure, while still allowing them to appear as a single entity. Each building was given its own color code. In keeping with the architectural style, a minimalist design with clear lines and a modern font was developed.

Two recurring elements characterize the design: a thin, surrounding aluminum frame with an anodized finish gives the impression that the contents are floating. The acrylic glass panels are painted with a dark metallic tone on the back and feature graphics on the front, creating an effect of spatial depth. Concealed fastenings emphasize the light, delicate appearance.
